B A S I C S ⪼ Mikaela is a fairly tall (ie 5'8") young man who is often noted as looking foreign (at least in Japan) due to his unique features. Being half Japanese and half Russian, Mika was born with blond hair and bright blue eyes. Said hair tends to frame his face in delicate curls and disheveled layers. One particular lock of hair usually stands up, a cowlick that can never be tamed. Since transforming into a full vampire, his eyes have become the color of blood and have cat-like pupils. This transformation has also bestowed upon him pointed ears and sharp fangs, as are necessary for drinking blood from humans. And being a vampire, Mika is usually dressed in the uniforms of the vampire army. His current outfit is white with black and gold accents. Beneath the white cape-like top is a black, collared shirt with a blue tie. A black anti-UV rays patch is attached to his left shoulder, allowing him to walk in sunlight without the UV rays building toxins in his inhuman system. At his hips, two black bands cross over his lower torso, securing the scabbard for his sword in place. A waist-length cape and black, thigh-high, leather boots complete the ensemble. Mika also wears white gloves to go with the outfit. As a full, noble vampire who was turned by a high ranking progenitor, Mikaela is exceptionally strong for his age. Such strength usually only occurs in much older vampires, and Mika has only been an incomplete vampire for four years. And yet he is able to go toe to toe with those considered to be extremely strong. Now that he is a full vampire, his strength and speed are increased, making him a very formidable foe. ◈ since mika was turned by the queen of vampires (krul tepes), a third progenitor, he is considered a vampire noble ➔ according to legend, the very first vampire was the archangel Michael who fell to earth and was cursed by God. as such, they have abilities and inhuman attributes not available or seen in regular humans. demons in owari no seraph are the source of power behind the weaponry used by humans to kill vampires. originally, many demons were vampires who were later turned due to various reasons. usually, the reason is blood starvation, either forced or complicit, but there are other methods as well. basically, a [ Seraph of the End ] is any child with an activated seraph gene. often times they are products human experimentation. as of the current point in canon, only three seraphs have been successfully awakened: Yuuichirou (Amane) Hyakuya, the series' protagonist, Mirai Kimizuki, and an unnamed seraph boy. ◈ NAME: Mikaela (Shindō) Hyakuya

He has enhanced senses such as hearing, smelling, and vision. He's able to run extraordinarily fast and often dodge some of the most dangerous attacks. His vampiric strength also gives him an ability to jump to and from high places, landing without damage. He heals fast, provided he hasn't been struck by an anti-vampire curse.
Mika is also a skilled swordsman. Unlike most vampires at his level, he is able to use what's called a "first class armament", a type of sword usually reserved for the high ranking vampire progenitors. This sword, when activated by the words "Drink my blood," extends vine-like appendages out of the hilt. These vines wrap around Mika's hand and arm, pulling blood from him and granting him extra strength and speed. He's also able to unleash a dangerous blast wave by swinging his sword in a horizontal arc, blasting enemies away from him.

WHAT IS A [ SERAPH OF THE END ]?
other ways in which one can be turned into a demon is by coming in contact with another demon (such as a trait inherited by a demon-possessed parent) or by making a contract with one. over time, exposure to the demon can lead to possession or succumbing to greed and desire, thus turning the person into a full/true demon.
because demons tend to be born from intense, passionate desire, they appear in the form at which they were most innocent and pure, when they felt the most hope and possibility. thus, most demons (with the exception of Mahiru-no-yo and a few others) look to be about 12 years of age.
when activated, seraphs often sprout wings of various shapes and sizes. Yuuichirou Hyakuya's seraph features black wings that sprout like tree roots (as a result of interferance from the demon he holds a contract with). Mirai Kimizuki's seraph features the traditional six wings often seen in classic art.
all seraphs roughly coordinate with one of the seven trumpets of the apocalypse. their powers relate in some way. such as Mirai's seraph, as the fifth trumpet, summoning Abbadon.
although only three seraphs have been fully awakened thus far, there are several children, known colloquially as "seraphs" who have the seraph gene and thus the capacity to summon a [ Seraph of the End ]. known children include:
